The Parish Athletic Board consists of Chris McLellan, Len Dietrich, John Farrell Brian Donnelly, Pat Clinton, Sandy Durham, and Father Joseph Diem.

Chris McLellan is responsible for the in-house league which plays on Friday nights and on Saturdays from 7:00 AM until 3:00 PM.

Len Dietrich is responsible for the CYO Basketball Program.

The volunteers coaches, assistants, etc. have the responsibility of caring for those actively involved in their programs, for unlocking and locking doors as required, and for making certain that the building is scheduled to be properly heated for their activities.

Spectators, activity participants, and other visitors are responsible for disposing of trash properly, and for appropriate behavior, during program events.

News notes – Basketball  2007-2008

It has been a tremendously successful year for basketball at Saint Joe’s this season !!

Four CYO teams from our parish made it to the North Shore playoffs… and thus qualified for the Archdiocesan Tournament ! 

• • The High School team, coached by George Fararra and Fran Fusco, won the CYO North Shore Championship and was invited to the Archdiocese Tournament!
• 
  • The Boys Cadets, coached by Randy Bennett and Fran Fusco, went as far as the semi-finals in the CYO North Shore playoffs !
• 
  • The Girls Cadets, coached by John Farrell and Len Dietrich, lost in the finals in the CYO North Shore League and were invited to the Archdiocese Tournament!
• 
  • The Girls Bantams, coached by Rick Harris, Kurt McLaughlin, Brian Donnelly, and Chris McLellan, also made it to the championship game in the CYO North Shore League! They were invited to the Archdiocese Tournament.
• 
  • The Bantam Boys finished 4-10 in the regular season.

In the Middlesex School League…

• • The Jr. Boys, coached by George Fararra, finished 2nd in the league, and made it to the finals in the championship game before losing.
• 
  • The Sr. Boys, coached by Len Dietrich and John Farrell, finished 3rd I the regular season and 4th in the playoffs.
• 
  • The Jr. Girls, coached by Rick Harris, Kurt McLaughlin, Brian Donnelly, and Chris McLellan finished 1st in the league… and were runners-up to Saint Mary’s in the playoffs, losing to St. Mary’s by 3 points.
• 
  • The Sr. Girls, coached by John Farrell and Len Dietrich, finished 2nd in the league at 16-1.They were runners-up to Saint Mary’s 8th grade team, losing by 2 points in the championship game. They were also invited to the Archdiocese Tournament.

In the Tri-Parish Tournament…

• • The 5th and 6th Grade Girls won their tournament. They were coached by Rick Harris, Kurt McLaughlin, Brian Donnelly, and Chris McLellan.
• 
  • The 7th and 8th Grade Girls Also won their tournament. They were coached by John Farrell and Len Dietrich.
