Brief
description of the organization:
This
group meets monthly from August through June to assist in
the preparation of parish liturgies and to create a worthy
and prayerful atmosphere in the church for Masses,
consistent with an understanding of our church’s rituals and
traditions. It is comprised of one of the priests, the
music director and volunteers. One member of the committee
acts as the coordinator for art and environment. Meetings
last approximately an hour and a half and follow an agenda
prepared by the chairperson.

Requirements of job – members are asked to
attend monthly meetings throughout the season, as well
as to assist in preparing the church for special
liturgies (Christmas, Easter, etc.), and to assist in
preparing for receptions following special
liturgies/events

Number of hours needed – approximately 1 ½
hours for monthly meetings along with variable
additional hours for special events as described above
Regular meeting time - one afternoon a
month (usually a Thursday) from 3-4:30 P.M.; schedule
for special events is established as needed at meetings
Commitment level – anytime

Additional information – Periodically
members of the committee are advised of, and given the
opportunity to attend, workshops and special liturgy
training sessions which are offered in the area.
PASTORAL COUNCIL
The
Saint Joseph Parish Pastoral Council is the primary advisory
body to the Pastor/Team/Administrator whose members assist
the parish priests in fostering a sense of unity and
community in the parish.
The
Council reviews programs and events and offers assistance
and suggestions on current programs, possible new programs,
and potential future events. The Council is also interested
in the overall financial health of the parish and reviews
the annual budget after it has been approved by Fr. Patrick
McLaughlin, the Parish Administrator, and periodically
reviews the financial activity during the year.
Members
meet every other month, or more frequently if needs arise.
Membership is by appointment and the length of term is
normally three years.
Parishioners may contact any of the members of the Council
with questions, comments, or suggestions.
Current
members of the Parish Pastoral Council are Bob Breen, Len
Dietrich, John Grant, Richard Grant, Donna Lee, Susan
Napier, and Joseph Raoul. Fr. Patrick McLaughlin and Father
Joseph Diem also attend the Pastoral Council meetings, as
does Joe Feltz, the Parish Business Manager.

FINANCE COMMITTEE
The
Parish Finance Committee is an advisory board, which
recommends approval of the parish budget to the
Pastor/Team/Administrator and reviews financial progress
during the year. Members also give valuable advice regarding
facility improvements, major maintenance projects, and other
significant planned or potential substantial expense or
revenue projects.
Members
of the Parish Finance Committee are appointed by Fr. Patrick
McLaughlin, the Parish Administrator.
Present appointed members are Steve Guerra, Margaret Drennan,
Larry Mawn, Donna Lee,
Gerard McQuaid, and John Monticone.
Fr.
Patrick McLaughlin and Father Joseph Diem normally attend the
Committee meetings, which are held every other month… or
more frequently as needs arise.
Joe
Feltz, the Parish Business Manager, is a resource person who
also attends Finance Committee meetings.

SCHOOL BOARD
Saint
Joseph School Board is an advisory group that recommends
approval of the school budgets and the establishment of
tuition rates and other charges for the school and the
pre-school program to the Pastor/Team/Administrator and the
principal. The members also review financial progress during
the year and monitor the collection of tuition and fees.
Membership is by appointment. Meetings are bi-monthly or
more frequently if needed. Present members are Nancy
Albanese, Stephen Corbett, Mary DiMaiti, Richard Mahoney,
and John Veneziano. Also invited to School Board
meetings are Betsy Murphy and Pamela Naso, co-presidents of
the Mothers’ Club.
Father
Patrick McLaughlin, Sr. Maureen Hunt, principal of the
school, and Sr. Winfred Miller, vice-principal, also attend
board meetings as does Joe Feltz, the parish business
manager.
