will attend the 10am Family Mass on Sunday. They will listen and receive their lesson  from the readings of the Children’s Lectionary.
They do not attend formal classes until second grade, but should be registered with the Religious Education Office.
 

will attend two six-week courses held on Sunday mornings beginning with the 10am Family Mass and class will follow from 11:15-12:15pm.   Parents are required to attend meetings in preparation for their child’s First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. The children and parents will also attend  a Mass of Commitment for 1^st Penance and 1^st Eucharist, a Penance and Eucharist Retreat, and rehearsal for 1^st Holy Communion. There is a $15 fee for the materials for both retreats in addition to the family registration fee of $125.00.

St. Joseph’s  school children preparing to receive Communion, must register with the Religious Education office, attend above mentioned meetings, Mass of Commitment, rehearsal, etc. and pay a $15 fee for the retreat materials.

students will attend classes on Sunday mornings beginning with the 10am Family Mass and class will follow from 11:15-12:15pm.  They will also attend reconciliation twice a year –once during Advent and once during Lent and will have their Safety lessons during class, which are mandated by the Archdiocese.

Grades 3-5 Religious Education schedule
 

students will attend classes, every other week, on Sunday evenings beginning with the 5pm teen Mass followed by class from 6 – 7:30pm  and will also have reconciliation during Advent and Lent and their Safety lessons.  Also, teens in grade 7 are required to attend a Chastity retreat.

The Sacrament of Confirmation is a two-year program beginning in Grade 9. However, you must complete grades 1-8 in religious education.
 

Teens attend 12 classes, scheduled every other Sunday, beginning with the 5 PM Mass followed by class from 6-7:00 pm.  Reconciliation is offered in the spring.  In addition, they are assigned to a Retreat day (9^th grade Retreat), which is held here at St. Joseph’s. The fee for retreat is $40 in addition to the family registration fee of $125.00.

Catholic High School students must register with us to attend the Retreat day for 9^th grade and pay the $40 retreat fee, which is due with their registration form.  The students do not attend classes this year
 

All students (public and catholic school) attend twelve classes held every other Sunday, beginning with the 5 PM Mass followed by class from 6-7:00 pm.  We have an information/ registration meeting that parents and students  are required to attend.  We offer this meeting in the spring with a make-up meeting in the fall, and also a sponsor meetings in the fall.  In addition, the teens will attend a Mass of Commitment, Reconciliation with sponsors,  perform a minimum of 10 hours Community Service, attend Courtyard Nursing Home with their class, attend a 10^th grade Retreat (which will be held at St. Francis), and rehearsal with their sponsor before being presented to the Bishop for Confirmation.  There is a fee of $60.00 for this Retreat, which is in addition to the $125.00 family registration fee.
